Unique features include a speedy 460.8Kbps serial DTE port, Hi/fn LZS (Stac? data compression, and V.42bis over ISDN. Together they provide high-speed web browsing and fast and easy downloading of multimedia files, such as high-quality audio, video, and graphics. The omni.net supports PPP Multilink Protocol, allowing for communications with ISDN devices from other manufacturers at full bandwidth of up to 128Kbps. Bandwidth Allocation Control Protocol (BACP) provides added flexibility through the PPP Multilink Protocol. Bandwidth On Demand automatically bundles the two B channels with the help of BACP, which evaluates data traffic and automatically adds and drops the second B channel as needed. Call-Bumping enables users to make an analog call when the two B channels are in use by dropping the second B channel.

Also featured in omni.net plus are two analog ports which allow simultaneous use of two analog devices such as telephones, modems and fax machines. For example, users may send e-mail while talking on the phone, or browse the Web while sending a fax

North American network compatibility includes AT&T 5ESS, Northern Telecom DMS-100, Siemens EWSD, and National ISDN-1. For Europe and Asia, DSS1, ITR6, Taiwan DGT and INS-NET64 networks are supported. The omni.net is available with either an S/T or U interface. The U-interface model features a built-in NT-1 device, providing easy installation and desktop space savings. The S/T interface model works with an external NT-1 device, ideal for those utilizing other ISDN equipment.

Adaptability and Ease of Use

ZyXEL's Multi-Auto feature automatically detects and accepts incoming calls for PPP, V.120, V.110 and X.75, freeing users from manual protocol configuration. The Multi-Auto feature also automatically answers and identifies calls as analog or digital and routes them accordingly.

Installing any model of user-friendly omni.net LCD series is made simple by using ZyXEL ISDN Configuration Manager(ICM), which supports PC and Macintosh. This software guides users safely through configuration without requiring an in-depth knowledge of networks.

Flash EPROM allows for easy firmware upgrades. New features and updates may be downloaded free of charge from ZyXEL BBS, FTP and World Wide Web sites.

Additionally, DTMF and pulse dialing recognition, a built-in speaker, LED status indicators, and multiple subscriber number settings add to omni.net's convenience.

Maximum Compatibility

V.120 maintains compatibility with ISDN BBS services, while Async to Sync PPP conversion provides interoperability with router-based Internet providers. The omni.net is compatible with all popular operating environments including Windows 3.1, Windows 95/NT, DOS, UNIX, Macintosh, OS/2, and Novell.
