A: TIt is under the D/N
GND on the board. On the 4CS, it is right on the ARM.
|
| Q: How do I connect
an OzLine unit to an alarm panel? |
| A: We recommend using the PGM
outputs on the panel. The OzLine units require a dry momentary
contact to trip an alarm. |
| Q: How is video transmitted
from an alarm panel to the central station? |
A: An alarm input is connected
to the alarm panel. Through an output on the panel, it connects
to a specific input on the OzLine unit, which is associated
to a particular camera. Upon an alarm event, the central station
receives the digital signal, as well as a video clip, sent from
the OzVision unit.
|
| Q: What do I do if
the OzLine unit remains armed when the alarm panel is disarmed? |
A: Arm the panel, then
have the central station dial in and program the day/night toggle
option. Once this has been done, everything should work properly.
|
| Q: Is there a system
that has fewer than four inputs and outputs? |
A: No, but you can use
the 4Cs without utilizing all the alarm inputs.
|
| Q: Can OzVision transmit
to cellular? |
A: Yes. The OzLine units
can transmit via the RS232 using a serial cable plugged into
a cell phone. The cell phone must be on a CDMA or GSM circuit
switch network.
|
| Q: How do I use the
OzLine for on-site viewing? |
A: You can do this through
the video output onto a local monitor or you can set up a direct
connection with a PC for local viewing. |
| Q: Can the OzLine
units transmit a signal to a PC with a direct connection? |
A: No. They only transmit
video to a receiving PC or the central station via POTS (phone
line), cellular or IP. Check with your central station to see
how they receive signals.
|
| Q: How do I set up
a direct connection? |
A: You will need to connect
a null modem cable from your PC to the OzLine’s RS232.

1. The central station must adjust the day/night switch key
setting. Connect to the unit. Go to “Tuning,” then
“Unit Power on Parameter.” Under the “Advanced”
tab, select the “Day/Night Switch Key Mode.” Click
“Upload” to make the change. That way, if there
is any power loss, the OzVision unit will remain in the state
it was in prior to losing power, rather than resetting itself.
2. Make sure the OzVision unit in always in an “Armed”
state. If you are wiring from an alarm panel, it will not transmit
any video unless the alarm panel is armed.
|
| Q: What is the correct
unit for connecting to a central station? |
A: We recommend all DRAM
units be used to connect to a central station. DRAM units allow
you to configure longer pre- and post-alarm video clips. You
must use either the OzLine-4CS or 12CS.
|
| Q: How do I configure
sensors? |

look distorted on my screen? |
A: Right-click on “Desktop,”
then click “Settings.” Select “Colors” and
make sure that the level is set to 1024x768 at 24-bit true color or
higher.
|
| Q: How can I get a better
resolution? |
A: Each OzLine unit provides
four options for resolution, 512x200 being the highest and 128x100
the lowest. The better the resolution, the slower the refresh rate.
If your OzLine is set at 512x200 and you are still receiving poor
resolution, the color setting on your PC is probably incorrect. The
correct settings should be 24-bit true color and large fonts.
|
| Q: Can I get better picture
quality on the full screen? |
A: The more you stretch the image,
the more it will pixelate and distort. |
| Q: Can I get good enough
resolution to identify a criminal? |
A: The resolution depends on
the correct setting of the OzLine unit and the computer. You need
to make sure the computer display is set for 24-bit true color and
the OzLine unit is set for 512 x 200. This will give you a very clear
picture. You should also have high-resolution camera (400 lines or
better). We suggest that the OzLine unit is not necessarily intended
to identify a criminal but to verify that a criminal is on-site.
|
| Q: How do I disable a camera
on my computer screen? |
A: Dial in to the unit. Go to
“Tuning” and select “Unit Power on Parameter.”
Under the “General” tab, where it says “Cameras,”
you can de-select any cameras you do not want to see on your computer
screen. Click “Upload” to save changes.

in a daycare application? |
A: Yes, OzVision can be used
for any application as long as you are aware that only one person
will be able to dial in to the OzLine unit at any one time. |
| Q: Can I operate a PTZ camera
remotely? |
A: Yes, the OzLine-4CS and OzLine-12CS
are PTZ compatible. |
| Q: Which PTZ dome cameras
does OzVision support? |
A: Right now, any Ademco dome
camera (VCLTP dome) will work. For additional cameras, please contact
us. |
| Q: Why does the connection
to an OzLine unit drop after a few minutes? |
A: There may be static on the
line. Changing the phone line should resolve the problem. If this
does not work, make sure you have the correct power to the unit and
verify that you are not using demo software, which disconnects after
five minutes of use.
|
| Q: Do I need a computer?
|
A: Yes, or a mobile device (PDA
– please verify compatibility with OzVision – or cell
phone) that supports the Windows CE operating system. OzLine units
consist of hardware at a site, coupled with software on the receiving
end. This makes it easier for you to check in on your location(s)
while you’re traveling using a computer or mobile device.

| Q: What are the system requirements
for a workstation to use OzVision? |
A: All that is required is a
Windows-based PC with a Pentium III or higher processor. Currently,
the OzVision software functions with all current versions of Windows,
from Windows 2000 to Windows XP.
|
| Q: Can I arm and disarm
an OzVision unit from the central station? |
A: Yes. Dial in to the unit.
Once you have connected, you will see an icon that is light blue/teal
with a yellow key in the middle. Once you select that, it will turn
dark blue with a key in the middle. When the icon is dark blue, you
will know the unit is armed.
|
| Q: Is there any indication
to the central station (while working with installer) to verify that
contacts have been activated properly? |
A: Yes. Once you have connected
the unit, in the lower portion of the screen, you will see red LEDs
representing each alarm input. If there is a contact occurring with
the input, the LED will appear red on the outside with white in the
middle. This should only be occurring for a few seconds, as the inputs
should be programmed for a momentary contact.
|
| Q: If I am getting a runaway
alarm, how do I stop it? |
A: Once you have connected to
the unit, go to “Tuning,” then “Unit Power on Parameter”
and then the “Sensors” tab. Under “Functionality,”
select “Disabled” for the zone that is sending the runaway
alarm. Click “Upload” to save the changes. This will allow
the installer time to resolve the problem at the site.
|
| Q: If the installer is arming
the OzVision unit off an alarm panel, is there any programming that
needs to be done on the central station side? |
A: Yes, you need to adjust the
day/night switch key setting. Connect to the unit. Go to “Tuning,”
then “Unit Power on Parameter.” Under the “Advanced”
tab, select the “Day/Night Switch Key Mode.” Click “Upload”
to make the change. That way, if there is any power loss, the OzVision
unit will remain in the state it was in prior to losing power, rather
than resetting itself. |
